Haiku Deck with Speaker Notes

Our week 7 assignment in Ed Tech 513 required the class to create a presentation using Haiku Deck. Haiku Deck is a presentation tool that allows the user to create slides that are image based with limited use of text. I really liked the ability to search for images within Haiku Deck. Images can be pulled from a wide variety of resources including Google, Drive, Flickr and a Creative Commons search.

Each slide can be easily customised. There are a variety of templates to use. However, some users may find the prescriptive nature of Haiku Deck a little limiting. The user must choose from the menu and the ability to change different elements is limited in the free version.

The core message of my presentation is the need for schools to develop digital citizenship and literacy skills in students. This is a topic that is being ignored or rejected by many schools and public education may need to develop strategies to deal with online issues facing students in their buildings.

Please check out my slides and speaker notes. Your comments and feedback are greatly appreciated.
